Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.
— B.K.S. Iyengar

Yoga for a Healthy Back, Neck, Hips, & Shoulders
Most Americans experience some sort of back pain in their lifetime – you aren’t alone! This class is perfect for those of you who have any form of back pain, from your hips up to your neck.
Back pain is often caused by structural imbalance, stress or prior injury. The instability created by the stress of the interaction of the strong areas of your back with the weak areas causes pain.
New tools: Lillah uses Iyengar principles, anatomy and physiology to realign your body, helping to strengthen the weak areas and give more freedom of movement and pain relief. Your back pain, although it may seem similar to others’, has a unique origin based on your structural strengths and weaknesses. When you have a private class with Lillah, she’ll determine what your strengths and weaknesses are and teach you how to address your individual needs through your tailored yoga practice. As you find balance through your yoga, pain relief won’t be far behind.
Therapeutic Yoga with Lillah also offers the antidote for knee pain, hip pain, spastic Piriformis syndrome, and many other structural issues. Contact us to find out more.
Yoga for Physical Asymmetry and Scoliosis
Everyone has some degree of asymmetry in their bodies. Does your asymmetry cause problems, pain or stiffness? When it comes to imbalances like scoliosis or other asymmetries, your condition may lead to extreme tension in one area and extreme weakness in another area. With these conditions, there is a rigidity in the spine that limits movement and contributes to weakness in other areas, like the ankles, knees, or hips. All of these factors in the asymmetric body play a role in limiting functional ability and causing pain or discomfort. If you have significant asymmetries in your body, you may lose some functional ability and experience pain, because as you age, joint spaces narrow and spinal compression increases.
New tools: Lillah will help you determine exactly where your unique strengths, weaknesses, and compressed areas are and then develop an individualized yoga practice that builds strength in weak areas, creates length in tight areas, and creates space in compressed regions. The goal is to create a dynamic balance within the setting of structural asymmetry so that your functional abilities are improved.
Lifestyle changes: Many people also find a lessening in the degree of their scoliotic curve and an increase in joy after a consistent yoga practice.

Invite your high-schooler or college-age friends to class or a private session so they can experience the benefits and learn how to maintain their spine and body for optimal health.
Yoga after Injury: Recovery and Pain Relief
Has an old or recent injury changed your relationship with your body? Have you had knee, back, shoulder, and hip surgery?
New tools: Avoid or change the build-up of scar tissue, which can bind, cause pain and limit motion. Lillah will teach you small and large movements in a variety of adapted yoga poses to aid in recovery and education of scar tissue while it is malleable during the first six to eight months after surgery. Schedule your session after your doctor or physical therapist has released you to pursue other activities.
For older and more ingrained injuries, Lillah teaches you effective practices to adapt making bound areas more flexible, and to nourish and heal your body.
Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other Physiological Challenges
In a recent study, people with MS who practiced yoga experienced, among other effects, a reduction in MS-related fatigue and depression.
The point is, yoga affects physiology as well as structure.
New tools: With yoga for MS and other physiological challenges such as recovery from breast cancer, fibromyalgia, and other afflictions, Lillah’s expert care can help improve circulation and positively affect the organs and chemical signaling pathways of the body, which, in some, seems to reduce the effects of MS on the body.
Lillah has been fully trained and has years of experience teaching therapeutic yoga for MS. Read about her teacher, Eric Small, in Lillah’s lineage.
Yoga for Golfers
Golf, due to its unilateral nature, creates imbalances in the body, so you need yoga cross-training for your golf to keep your hips healthy and your game good.
New tools: If you love the game of golf, you deserve a sequence of yoga poses to practice at home to keep your body balanced and supple.
Lillah has extensive experience teaching seminars and private sessions for golfers. Schedule a private session today to be at the top of your game!
