Sri Aurobindo Yoga Retreat June 22-26, 2016

Sri Aurobindo Yoga Retreat 2016

Furman University, Greenville , SC

I have the great privilege of teaching the morning asana and the evening pranyama classes for this years Sri Aurobindo Yoga Retreat in Greenville, SC. I have attended the retreat several times as the distinguished speakers from India & U.S. have so much to offer. I remember well my first retreat. I gracefully landed in an authentic pod made up of and sponsored by several families of Indian descent. I and one other yoga teacher were the only American yogis in attendance. All the teachers joining us came from the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in India. What a gift! The authentic experience of the lineage right in my own back yard! I attended many years and made some wonderful new friends there.

This year I am doubly excited as my college Dr Dilip Sarkar, the current president of IAYT (International Asso. of Yoga Therapy) , invited me to step into his place as their Yoga Teacher. Read some words from The Mother, and if you feel called, please join us.

What is the New Consciousness?

“We are in a very special situation, extremely special, without precedent. We are now witnessing the birth of a new world; it is very young, very weak – not in its essence but in its outer manifestation – not yet recognized, not even felt, denied by the majority. But it is here.

It is here, making an effort to grow, absolutely sure of the result. But the road to it is a completely new road which has never before been traced out – nobody has gone there, nobody has done that! It is a beginning, a universal beginning. So, it is an absolutely unexpected and unpredictable adventure.

There are people who love adventure. It is these I call, and I tell them this: I invite you to the great adventure.”…THE MOTHER
