200 Hour Dates & Weekend Topics 2016

1. April 22-24 Fundamentals of Posture Alignment: The Art of Asana and Pranayama, Keys to pelvic stability.

2. May 27-29 The Gift of Opposites. Primary Pose Actions: Foundations and Safety, Sequencing Formulas, Anatomy, Yoga Philosophy and Meditation

3. June 17-19 Prop Magic. Building Poses: Progress with Confidence

4-5-6. August 1-7: 7 day residence training & retreat at Prama Institute.  Teaching Technique: Group Practice. Adjusting and Adapting Poses, The Ethics of Teaching, Common Ailments and Injuries, the organ systems, Into to Ayurveda and Samkhya philosophy. Yoga Nidra. ( counts as 3 weekends)

7. Sept 23-25 Anatomy of Movement and Postural Assessment

8. Oct 21-23  Alignment and the Asymmetric Body, including Scoliosis

9. Roger Cole PhD. Nov 4-6, 2016 Anatomy and Physiology Weekend

10. Graduate weekend January 13-15, 2017: The Art of Teaching Demonstrations

Weekend Hours:

Friday 2-5pm and 6.30-8.30pm

Saturday 10.00-1.30pm and 2.30-6.30pm

Sunday 8.30-12:30pm and 1:00-2:30pm

* 7 day retreat hours will begin monday at 1 pm August 1, 2016 and end on Sunday August 7th at 2 pm. Other hours TBA.

$2425 includes manual and $375 non-refundable deposit.

  OR *Enroll with a friend anytime and save $100 each! $2325.

-10 Month Payment Plan Option $2525 – $375 non-refundable Deposit = $215/ month.  Pay Plan administration adds $10 per payment/ per month ( approx. 3%). 10 payments of $215.00 auto drafted on the 1st or 15th of the month.

Early Registration $100 discount if applicable will be deducted from your 10th payment on your payment plan.

We appreciate you purchasing your books with us. Either through our Online Store or our host studio One Center Yoga. To assist in budgeting for the 200 hr program, you will only need to pay for the first 4 books on the list now and may purchase the rest at a future date

  3. The Heart of Yoga by T.K.V. Desikachar; Practical application of simple yoga practices, philosophy and translation of yoga sutras, lots of nice interviews with Desikachar about his father Sri Krishnamacharya.
  4. Runner’s Yoga Book by Jean Couch; Practical knowledge of alignment, posture, and contraindications for the beginning practitioner.

Home Study Requirements

Your home studies: Five hours a week of personal practice including a focus on pose mastery, the development of teaching sequences and the language of teaching. Reading and study guides to be completed, and supervised peer teaching. You will also create an opportunity to practice teach and learning how to self evaluate.
Estimated time: 10-12 hours per week for the entire course.


Course Completion

Upon successful graduation, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Transformation Yoga Trainings and may apply directly to Yoga Alliance for registration at the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training level. You are also invited to continue your studies with our 300/500 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training program.
